Pakistan is fortunate that Imran Khan as PM is showing improvements in the domestic sector. The recognition that has been awarded to the kissan is now reaping benefits in the agricultural sector which is the mainstay of the Pakistani economy. This has spread a feeling of well being throughout the land. This comes as a welcome respite after the downturns created by thirty years of so called democracy which was a cloak for organised thievery. Also known as the enrichment of the few at the cost of the many. Luckily this has seen an upswing in Imran Khan’s popularity in the masses. Even though the charade of the N good governance still lingers.

The people are awakening to the reality of this as a myth. This was a carefully planned and highly financed myth propagated at a huge cost. This was funded by diverting finances from development sectors into the media. This huge source covered the real poverties that beset the people. The song of praise to the Sharifs denied the underlying poverty that was the reality. The media did its job well for which it had been handsomely paid. Imran’s stature on the world stage is increasing dramatically and seems to be a confirmation of the correctness of his stand.

The US handling of the Taliban is currently being exposed. The shameful peace treaty signed with the Taliban has sent danger signals to Pakistan with the recent requests for bases in Pakistan. These requests have been turned down by Imran Khan as they are an obvious threat to the new regime that will emerge in Kabul. This prospect of air bases from which the US will launch attacks on targets is too dangerous to envisage and would invite instant retaliation from Kabul and of course the 2.8 million Afghans living in our midst.

Imran Khan has now achieved a stature with admiration from the world. The President of China and Putin of Russia are showing their appreciation of Imran’s conduct. His independence from the Americans is welcome to the anti US sentiment brought about by the American continuation of brutality in the region. The horrors of Vietnam are being repeated in Afghanistan and the defeat and humiliating retreat from Saigon and now the truce in Qatar are similar though separated by fifty years. No lessons have been learned by the Americans. We are fortunate that we have a Prime Minister who is not for sale and he’s not about to offer targets in Pakistan.

The people of Pakistan know this and appreciate this regardless of the anti Imran media campaign by the PML N and PPP agenda. Their NRO campaign will not slowdown or stop even though they will offer these targets to the US in a bid to secure this NRO. The people of Pakistan are now aware of the value of Pakistani lives which are on offer to American missiles. The American blood lust must be contained so that precious Pakistani and Afghans lives will not be lost.
