The Security Lapse
Published on April 24th, 2021

The PTI of Imran Khan has taken a massive hit.
The bail granted to Shahbaz Sharif has made the position of the PML N clear.
The money trail of freshly laundered crisp bills under the names of surprisingly wealthy panwalas have set new records in Pakistani politics.

With all the huge amount of unclaimed money disappearing in to the Sharifs’ accounts has set a record of honesty amongst the “ N ” workers for none of these amounts was miss appropriated showing a high level of integrity in the N machine.

There was no hint of treachery by the routers and no plea bargain with such huge amounts that could have gone missing along the way.

The PTI must be wishing that it had exercised such tight control over the billions of orphaned money that none went astray.

The latest news that has shocked Pakistan is the bomb explosion at the Serena in Quetta where a car bomb was used.
This is a serious security lapse and should not be taken lightly.
The Chinese Ambassador was leading a high level Chinese delegation and was the target with this attack.
Although Tehrik-i-Taliban had taken the responsibility, it still raises question over security issues.
It seems that the counter intelligence network is flawed, and has been breached by the terrorists.

Imran Khan, our Prime Minister has already been sidelined by the establishment and charges of incompetence have been bandied about him.
His governance has also been termed as incompetent.

This Quetta bombing and the attack on the Chinese ambassador has nothing to do with the PMs governance, this was the security lapse and indicates the highest level of breach.
The Pakistani army is one of the finest in the world in all aspects of training and in battle.
They have managed to eyeball the Russians into submission and now the US is asking the Pakistani army for safe conduct for their remaining troops to safely exit Afghanistan.
If such lapses have taken place then there is a genuine feeling of betrayal at the highest level.

If the prime minister can be held accountable for governance then surely such a high security lapse should be investigated and the ISI should be tasked to root out the culprits regardless of their position or affiliation.

The damage to the state if successful would have been in calculable with disastrous consequences over the Pak-China relationship.
This must be investigated throughly and the result of this investigation should be made public and the culprits should be punished.
This was not mere corruption but an attack on the state of Pakistan that should be investigated in this light.
