Yousaf Reza Gillani was involved in a huge scam of more than Rs. 45 crores which was paid to Gillani’s front man in PM House, for an LPG contract that never happened.

Gillani personally guaranteed the agreement would be honored. This scoundrel is being selected as a Senator of Pakistan.

Surely with such serious criminal charges pending the election of a character to the honorable Senate should not be allowed.

The Election Commission seems to be dragging its feet and its motives are clearly not kosher.
This would be the appropriate time for a Suo Moto Notice by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to end such a monstrous imposition of an undeserving criminal to the Senate which is obviously a ploy to grant him immunity from prosecution of crimes already committed.

It is also apparent that the politicians want to continue their patronage of criminals.
The Supreme Court must act in defense of the law. Gillani’s penchant for illegality has seen him disqualified for in the recent path for five years.

Surely the Election tribunal in its overlooking these crimes and allowing the candidacy casts a shadow on the integrity of the Election Commission itself, and should be dissolved if it allows more undesirables into positions where they may misguide the destiny of this nation.

If the Supreme Court does not see this as an attempt to subvert the constitution, then the time has come to dissolve the assemblies.
Perhaps our PM can call upon the military for assistance - bureaucratic and judicial.
These pillars of the state, bureaucratic and judicial have been weakened beyond repair.
Perhaps a good dose of martial law would give the necessary corrective jolt.
General Bajwa has already received his share of scathing insults from Maryam Nawaz and through videoconference from her absconding father.

Prime Minister, it is time to do away with this system that is destroying Pakistan in the name of democracy.
