The Holy Quran is indeed full of wondrous words of depth and meanings that even the most able minds would find difficult to understand. So vast is their meaning and yet simple enough to be understood by all.
Today, the world of science has in the last 100 years advanced more in its knowledge than in all the years of human history.
The last 100 years is a microcosm in the time scale of the universe where the passage of time is not immeasurable.
It has already been calculated that the universe had started at one finite point. This starting point has been calculated at approximately 14 billion years ago. This has been calculated by looking at the present rate of expansion of the stars and calculating backwards to arrive at the beginning. This figure of 14 billion years has thus been calculated with fair accuracy.
Before the Big Bang there was nothing till God said “Kun” (BE. LET IT HAPPEN). This was the beginning of the words of the Quran.
It is remarkable how the discovery of physics has so accurately depicted many of the movements of the celestial bodies through the heavens that were forecast in the Quran which was revealed to mankind 1400 years ago.
While the Europeans grapple with ignorance in darkness, The Holy Quran had already revealed the movements of the planets, which would have been considered hearsay in the days of medieval Europe.
Many scientists were punished in Italy for holding these views which were considered as hearsay, and they were punished accordingly. However the Quran brought revelations that are currently being verified by scientific advances.
Today the idea of multiple universes is being developed as theories, this has already been mentioned in the Quran.
Even Iqbal in his famous couplet said “Wahan, Jahan Aur Bhi hai” (there are more universes ahead),
A truly wondrous book.
Science is moving so fast and yet it is only uncovering some of the truths already stated in the Quran. What was considered faith 100 years ago, Islam considered reality with proofs ratified by mathematics and physics in that order.
