After travelling for 10 years, a probe landed on a comet 67p which is only 2 square km in size and located at the distance of several billion miles.

A confirmation was received by the European Space Agency that the position of the probe was confirmed on the surface of the comet. This was a remarkable feat considering that the probe had travelled ten years and during its journey was constantly monitored and corrections made whenever required.

Two rendezvous with the comet at a distance of so many billion miles showed the accuracy of calculations made when taking into account the velocity of the comet through the solar system and its orbit through the solar system.

Mankind has proved that he is able to calculate accurately the trajectory of the heavenly bodies, satellites, comets, and planets through the solar system, and the ability to land a probe on whichever is the chosen destination at will.

When one considers that all these objects are moving through space, some at high speed, none of them are static.
To land on them shows the advanced knowledge of mathematics involved and the precise understanding of the planetary movements through interstellar space.

The solar system and planetary system are now well known to human engineers. With such precise information, it is indeed ridiculous that our mullahs should be arguing about sighting of the Eid moon.

Particularly, for a country that is already declared a nuclear power and command, which is indicative of the knowledge of mathematics involved.
Is it not ridiculous that the mullah should insist on visible sightings of the moon ? Is it not surprising that the mullahs are deliberately casting a doubt on the sighting of the moon?.

Would it not be better for the mullahs to announce the fixed date of the Eid moon on a particular date, so that holidays, marketing and shopping on those days could be declared in advance and the elaborate preparations be made early on. Rather then admit to be ignorant of the movement of the moon. Which is already well known throughout the scientific world. The Mullas are pointing to a level of ignorance of astronomy which is inexcusable. We are certainly not the backward nation that this would suggest.

This would help the shop keepers and various businesses to plan accordingly. To keep the sighting of the moon a mystery is damaging to the shopkeepers and their trade. Worse, it sends a clear signal to the scientific world that our mullahs are definitely keeping the sighting of the moon under their control for a minimal financial advantage but damaging the over all scientific knowledge that should be subscribed to.

The maulvis should not be allowed to parlay their denial of the lunar calendar for a show of religious obfuscation when every Islamic country in the world celebrates Eid on one day except for Pakistan.
