The Evil That Men Do
Published on October 27th 2016

Have just lost all respect for Cyril Almeida, a columnist well respected for well crafted, thought out articles, in the Dawn known for its conservative views. But when the current article chooses to ignore the history of the Sharifs, and the model-town massacres, the Supreme Court attacks, the wanton rape of the Exchequer with fraudulent foreign exchange dealings where huge benefits were reaped by cohorts. The list is endless, and no charges were ever filed or tried in a court. That would disqualify the Sharifs from any public office. Let alone the highest in the land.

The manipulation has been extraordinary, with no limit, or expense spared. It explains quite simply the aversion the Sharifs have for the Army. For the Army will never allow its leadership to be shared. This is the fatal flaw in the Sharif premise. The Army can only have one Chief. And explains why Nawaz has had an issue with every COAS that has led the Pakistan Army. The other issue is that the character of the Sharifs has always been suspect, and flawed by criminal intent. The rule of the Sharifs is full of illegal actions, but they have been lost in the midst of criminal behaviour by all the politicians. Mainly because the judiciary was bent first. And therefore were never tried, or were hounded out ala Sajjad Ali Shah. Even the Four Crores flown to Quetta in the Punjab CM’s plane to pay to the three remaining Judges of the Supreme Court. Carried by Justice Tarrar, who was recompensed for his role by being elevated to the Presidency of Pakistan. Surely these crimes should be punished by Pakistan, and not treated as additional ribbons to be worn, and flaunted. This was the low point of the Judiciary of Pakistan. From these levels was the judicial infancy nurtured, and culled till the present lot. Let us see whether our judiciary has progressed from there. It would be interesting if the previous judges could be tried for their well documented transgressions, and the effect on the future generations of the law. These judges should be debarred, and their crimes be written up in the Law books.

It is a pity that our politicians have caused so much damage to the history of this nation. To then, become Prime Minister for three terms shows a serious flaw in our judicial system. The people of Pakistan do not deserve this, and a thorough cleansing is necessary. Our malaise is too deeply ingrained, and a more radical solution will have to be adopted. Nothing short of a revolution can work.

The Bhuttos, Zardari, Sharifs maintained that they have paid in blood for their positions. Does this allow them to break the law? Does it allow them to Rob? Does it allow the rulers to amend the rules to commission on deals while in the Govt? Surely the rules of government absolutely forbids the misuse of Government funds. It seems that Imran is the only Pakistani leader left standing. All the others have been exposed long ago, and should be in jail serving long sentences. They should have been disqualified, and the entire Election commission should be in jail. Unless the road to power is not cleansed, then this rot will continue. It seems Lyall Grant is here on a mission to bring about a new NRO. Mr Grant has already positioned the leader of the MQM to run a party on the Hitler style, with similar target killers, with ordered kills, documented with confessional statements. One such killer Saulat Mirza, who has recently been hanged for his murders 127, that he has confessed to, complete with details of the dates names of the victims, Guns used, and where the guns were disposed of. Thank God that he has been hanged and removed from this earth. Is Lyall Grant here to bring in more of the same. Does HMG know what her officers are running? For a start Grant’s Knighthood should be withdrawn and given to a more deserving person. Certainly not someone who patronised and protected the worst rule in the History of Karachi taking it from the city of Lights, to the most dangerous city in the world. The British Government owes much to the people of Karachi, for their hand in the wilful destruction of the peace that was Karachi. If he is here in Karachi to peddle some more of his dirty tricks, then our Government should send him home quickly, before he can do any more damage. The British Nation gave us a legacy of fair play sense of rightness. And we believed them, and hated Hitler for being so ‘Un british’. So to see Pakistan being taken away from everything we were taught, and that extortion and murder, was never the business of the State, but that of a demented demagogue like Hitler. To now thrust Hitler upon us in this the 21st century. These last ten years under the new UK policy, has destroyed all the good work done in the past. It is time Her Majesty’s government woke up to the evil that is being done in her name.
