After the election in Karachi, Imran must be told that Pakistan cannot continue in this vein, and there must be a change regardless of the cost. To seek power for the sake of power is not reason enough. A change must be brought about, as Pakistan cannot possibly endure another five years of the Nawaz/Zardari combination. The magnitude of corruption is increasing, worse, all the development, and progress is at a halt. The latest scam is the water purification plant(s) being setup in Sind. This is covered by the Sind Government grant of 100 million Dollars.

Already disbursed. Because the plants run on electric power, which should be the priority of the Government, as promised in the election campaign, seems to have been forgotten amongst the other promises. So, the proposers have cunningly put together a Solar energy plan to generate enough power to run the diesel plants, at a huge cost, double the cost of the water Plants. Neither will get off the ground and the promoters will vanish without a trace! along with the billions invested by the Sind government. Does Pakistan need to be punished in this manner?Imran Khan should change his stance, and now should concentrate and bring about accountability. This will be his greatest gift for the Nation. This is the need of the hour, and the rest of the country will flourish. Imran should not seek out power, but chase the wrongdoers- of which there are many.

Many self confessed, many bragging about the manner and amounts they have embezzled. The news media is full of their doings, these can be converted into FIRS. The latest report of a fishing launch caught on the high seas headed for Dubai, carrying fifty million U.S. is no joke, it is more than enough to mount an insurrection, certainly bring down a government, and should be looked at as a treasonous act. Perhaps Ayyan Ali should be cautioned of the severity of the crime, she was party to. The mastermind is surely not playing for matchsticks. The game is far bigger, and more sinister. It is important that the establishment extricate itself from the political games, and act as a pillar of the govt, which is its proper role, to uphold the constitution, and not to mutilate it while crying democracy. Democracy is not important, not when it is used to grab power, and to play with the constitution and twist it for their crooked ends. An important political commentator has aptly named the governing system in Pakistan as a Kleptocracy, rightly so.

And the rulers have all partaken of the looting with every turn at the helm. No mercy was ever shown to the robbed. If anything it was the reverse Robbing hood, they robbed from the poor and gave to the rich (themselves). Pakistan is truly unfortunate that we have such a despicable collection of leadership, that rotates the power amongst themselves, without any punishment. Setting a role model for the youth, the ‘quick buck’ is available, the route proscribed is laid out via the political path. So well trodden that it is passed on from father to son and has become the norm. It is also without danger of punishment, as evident from the scams uncovered daily. Some target killers, and money mules are caught, but the big fish are not named, or caught. The really big fish, two Prime Ministers, were caught, one was sentenced and then pardoned by the President, Zardari himself. If anything, the military courts should examine all the pending cases against the politicians, and bring closure. Any case pending against a politician should bar him from holding office until he has been exonerated and the case dropped. Till that time he should not be allowed or his kin to exercise any power, of any kind. This political power is not feudalism, it is sheer criminality. Now not practiced in deepest Sicily. But sadly still rampant in Multan, and many parts of Pakistan, including Lahore.

Imran should concentrate on ridding Pakistan of these criminals, and a new Pakistan will emerge. He should go to the streets, bypassing the Assemblies for it is these very assemblies that are the centre of corruption, and will fight him tooth and nail. Imran is feared because of his honesty. This should be his only agenda. Nothing else. In the meantime, Imran should make the establishment understand that the situation has been on hold for too long. There is no investment coming in, in fact huge amounts of money are flying out of Pakistan, to safe havens such as Dubai. The 50 Million $ that were intercepted on the high seas is a large amount, in one consignment, and in the wrong hands could destabilise the Province, and possibly the whole country. This has not been pulled from any business or Industry. If so that industry would collapse immediately. This is probably from only the Zardari family that controls such huge funds, and represents the liquidation of the various plots for transfer out of Pakistan. Either way, whoever the owner may be, the amount is large enough to do damage to the economy of Karachi and to Pakistan.

It is important that the owner of these funds be exposed, and punished. Financial forensic experts should be appointed to examine the source of these funds, to ascertain the damage to Pakistan, tax evasion, criminal connection to politicians or political parties. Imran should be at the forefront of this fight, as he is the only politician that has the honesty of purpose to cleanse the system. No one else can stand against the powers arraigned on the side of the corrupt. Imran is the only Pakistani that can achieve this task. And this task will be easy to follow, once it has been done. Gen Raheel Shareef has done a great job in cleaning some areas of Karachi, and capturing large quantities of hidden arms. The culprits now exposed should be tried and punished.

The economic terrorists should also be punished, for the person(s) responsible for the movement of the fifty million dollars, are as dangerous as Mullah Omar, and tried regardless of their affiliation to any Party. These people have brought the economy to a standstill. Depriving many of their livelihood, forcing Karachiites to live in fear and in danger. This disease must be eradicated, and Gen Raheel will go down in history as the saviour of Pakistan. These criminals have nothing less than the collapse of Pakistan in mind. The Army knows the architects, and must move against them with as much determination as they would against the foreign enemies, as both have a common aim–the destruction of Pakistan.
